Roaming Alberta Meats is based in Calgary. The company was started by Meaghan Riopel, entrepreneur and MBA/CMA graduate, who had a personal desire to connect with farmers and understand exactly where the meat on her table was coming from.
Knowing that the bison industry has a strong reputation for top-quality, hormone-free, and ethical treatment, this was a natural choice.
Meaghan works closely with her parents, Joan & David Hines who take care of most of the leg work. Meg's desire to eat healthy was instilled by her mother who has always appreciated the value of "scratch cooking".
Joan has always sought the best, healthiest meals to serve to her family and friends. Together they enjoy the shared mission of shortening the distance from farm to plate, not only for themselves but also for their customers. Roaming Alberta Meats has been serving Calgary and area with bison meat offerings for the past 4 years.
We are excited to now be able to offer a much larger selection of quality, farm raised meats ranging from our all-time favourite protein, Bison from Kolb Farms, to now include Canadian Rangelands Elk, Brant Lake Wagyu Beef, Earthworks Grass Raised Beef, Irving's Free Range Berkshire Pork, Bowden and Winters Turkey, Bowden Chicken & eggs, Ewenique Lamb, Sunworks Chicken Sausage and eggs, Missing Link Chicken Sausage, Northwinds Rainbow Trout and Yak from The Yak Ranch. We look for the cleanest local protein for our customers and love supporting small farms.
